blunt because

The purpose of blunt is to solve the world's largest problems... one step at a time.

In a way that is true, but it's mostly just a joke.

Really, there are 3 primary reasons I'm starting blunt.
  1. I have a lot to say.
  2. I had hearts on my english essays.
  3. To leave a lasting impression.
1. I have a lot to say:
At least once, almost every day, I feel like I really have
something to say to the world, or at least some of it. Most
often this comes to me from God. Blunt? Thats the idea.
Don't be spooked, I just mean it comes to me while I'm
spending dedicated time with God. This could be reading my
Bible, thinking, praying, listening to music, working, driving,
etc. Since I believe I really do have the God of the world
living inside of me (Holy Spirit) and speaking to me, I think I
have something pretty valuable to share. Not that I'm
special, so do millions of people around the world, but
unfortunately we don't usually tell anyone about it or we
don't even listen ourselves.
I'm going to try to minimize both of those!

2. I had hearts on my english essays:
Now, I'm not 100% sure if it was my writing that made my
english teachers love me, but for some reason most of
them did.
I have always received very high grades on papers and
essaysof all sorts and was told that I was a gifted writer on
many occasions. Yet I have never really done anything with
that. As a business development manager I am mostly
limited to proposals and summaries.
So maybe God gave me a gift in writing and I need to be
using it... I don't know, but I do know I would hate to waste
it if He did.
Yes, I actually had one teacher draw a heart on my paper...
but we think it might have been a freudian mistaken 0 on
the end of a 100%. HA!

3. To leave a lasting impression:
Lasting is the key word here. I may not make much of an
impression. But at least it will be in a copy-and-paste-able
format and readable (my hand written journals aren't).
My oldest brother made a candid comment on the phone to
me about reading my memoirs... and I started thinking that
if I died that there would be nothing to read.
blunt solves that!

Soon I'll explain why the name is blunt... and then I'll begin
to write bluntly about some things that matter to me.
